The Energy and Environment Park (ENPARK), a sustainable community model for commercial and residential use and a member of TECOM Investments, in conjunction with Sesam Business Consultants today announced the launch of 'The Green Brunch' – a series of four events focusing on different aspects of the energy and environment industry.

Green Brunch will feature presentations, open debates, project tours and workshops that will particularly serve to raise awareness on new energy and environment-related technologies and solutions available in the market.

Building on the success of the Green Building series that was co-hosted by ENPARK in 2009 and which brought together over 800 professionals in addition to drawing the participation of 200 thought leaders at the workshops, this year Green Brunch will also serve as a platform to connect the industry, the financial and the government sectors.

The series will kick off with an event on 21 June at Dubai Knowledge Village Conference Hall and focus mainly on 'Energy Efficiency', covering topics like green HVAC solutions, building automation and performance contracting. This will be followed by an event in July on 'Green Retrofitting' for private and commercial space. The third event will be held after the Holy Month of Ramadan and focus on 'Water and Waste Water'. The Green Brunch series will conclude in November with an event on 'Solid Waste and Recycling Management'.

Ali Bin Towaih, Executive Director of ENPARK, said: "We are delighted to promote this initiative once again in order to encourage synergies among key players from the business, the government as well as the financial sector. In the past years, we have played a major role in spreading the green concept in the UAE and believe the Green Brunch will further raise awareness on the benefits of green technologies.

"Our intention is to explore business opportunities for the energy and environment projects in the region and beyond. We have already noticed an increasing shift in the government approach towards sustainability, but financial institutions are still required to identify opportunities in this sector and support our drive. ENPARK will continue to play a leading role in creating sustainable communities that will work towards preserving natural resources as their priority for the future."

Each module in the Green Brunch series will offer presentations from key industry leaders including ENPARK business partners, as well as representatives from the government, financial institutions and legal firms. A certificate of attendance will be presented to all participants.

Boris Ritter, General Manager, Sesam, said: "Following the positive feedback received from last year's Green Building conferences we are glad to continue our close collaboration on this important ENPARK initiative. Awareness, education and bringing the right parties together are key to facilitating green concepts in the UAE."

The 'Green Building Series', hosted in 2009, included a sequence of conference and workshops focusing on solar technologies, green buildings, lighting and water solutions and was part of ENPARK's initiative to promote sustainability across the region.
