British Airways is giving Club World (business class) travellers an opportunity to experience its FIRST cabin when travelling between the UAE and North America. Passengers purchasing Club World tickets to the USA and Canada for travel before 15 June 2006 will get a free upgrade to FIRST between London and the USA or Canada in both directions.  The upgrade can be confirmed at the time of booking and is subject to availability.

Commenting on the offer, British Airways’ Manager for the UAE, Deborah Frampton, said, “It’s an excellent opportunity for our premium customers to experience two distinctive classes of travel for the price of one.

“Club World has experienced excellent growth in the UAE and many of our customers are frequent flyers and Executive Club members. The special offer is our way of thanking them for their loyalty,” said Frampton.

British Airways offers daily flights from Abu Dhabi to London and twice daily from Dubai to London with over 50 connecting flights a week to 22 destinations in North America.

About Club World
The ergonomically designed Club World seat is fully electronic with integrated lumbar support and can adopt any recline position between fully upright and completely flat.  In addition to the fully adjustable headrest with ‘ears’ to provide extra support, the unique footstool makes the most of the generous legroom to allow customers to really stretch out their legs and relax.  Not only does it form the end of the six foot flat bed, the footstool is also fully adjustable and on a pivot to allow customers to position it according to their height, or stow it completely to provide easy access to and from the seat.

Comfort and space in the Club World cabin have been enhanced with an innovative design that has created the first “lounge in the sky” environment for business travellers.  Seats are now designed in forward and rearward facing pairs to maximise personal space and privacy, with the added feature of individual privacy screens at each seat that can be opened or closed depending on whether customers are travelling together or alone. Side by side seating is also available should customers prefer this traditional configuration.

About FIRST
Leading British interior designer Kelly Hoppen re-designed British Airways’ FIRST class product and re-created the ultimate experience in luxury travel.

Kelly Hoppen’s brief was to emulate the style and quality of the interior of a Rolls Royce in flight, using only the best fabrics and textures - Connolly leather, burr walnut wood effect, cashmere and chenille fabrics in a colour palette of blue, her signature taupe colour and a deep rich red.

British Airways introduced its revolutionary ‘flying flat beds’ in 1996, featuring individual cabins with electronically-controlled seats that convert to a 6’6” bed, allowing passengers to choose whether to sleep, work or relax at anytime during their journey in complete privacy.

The service also offers in-seat power for lap top PC’s, personal video systems with a choice of over 45 video titles and eight continuous programme channels. In addition, à la carte dining is on offer and can be ordered at any time during the flight.
