UAE officials opened a two-day conference on development of human resources in Al Ain Sunday with a call to the private sector to give priority in jobs to nationals to reduce reliance on expatriate labour and achieve economic and social stability.
But UAE citizens were also urged to shoulder their responsibilities in serving domestic development which they said is facing challenges because of the continuous fluctuations in oil prices and the dominance of foreigners in the labour market, Gulf News reported.
Addressing the fourth conference on Development of Human Resources and Job Nationalisation Programmes in Theory and Practice, Dr Khaled Mohammed Al Khazraji, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, said a long-term strategy is needed to ensure the implementation of job nationalisation plans.(Albawaba.com)
