Emirates NBD Wins ‘Best Bank in the UAE’ Award
Award strengthens the groups’ position as the leader of the banking industry in the country
Emirates NBD, the largest banking group in the Middle East in terms of assets has been named as the best bank in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by the renowned Global Finance Magazine.
In an exclusive survey to be published in the May 2008 issue of the publication, Global Finance editors along with industry analysts and banking consultants selected the best emerging market banks in the Middle East. Criteria for selecting the winner included: growth in assets, profitability, strategic relationships, customer service, pricing and innovative products.
The criteria for the assessment of the best bank award measures overall performance in the previous period, incorporating performance criteria, qualitative achievements and strategic initiatives.

The Global Finance award, follows two awards received by Emirates NBD to date this year including: Best Foreign Exchange Bank in the UAE and Best Emerging Market Bank in the UAE.
This is the fifteenth year that the magazine has selected top banking performers in emerging markets. The report covers best banks in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and Central and Eastern Europe.
Emirates NBD will be presented with the Best Bank award at an awards ceremony held in Washington on October 13th 2008.
