Musk made the remarks in response to a post on the social media platform "X" discussing the billions of dollars in aid allocated to Ukraine.
In his comment, Musk described Zelensky as "the champion of robbing the U.S." and added, "He is the champion of all time." The remarks followed a user's post on "X" claiming that Zelensky had orchestrated "one of the greatest cash heists ever" with the financial assistance provided by Washington.
The criticism came after U.S. President Joe Biden announced a new $2.5 billion aid package for Kyiv, continuing the United States' significant financial and military support for Ukraine amidst its ongoing conflict with Russia.
Meanwhile, former U.S. President Donald Trump, who has vowed to resolve the Ukraine conflict through negotiations, has criticized the U.S. approach to the war. Trump has claimed he could bring an end to the conflict "in just one day" if given the chance.
Trump also took aim at Zelensky, referring to him as a "wanderer" whose visits to the U.S. frequently result in multi-billion-dollar aid packages from Washington.
