Ahmed El Hayani has just won the first prize in "Francisco Albert Cassar" Contest, organized by the Spanish Chamber of trade and navigation in Casablanca. The Moroccan creator was granted a sum of 30,000 Moroccan Dirhams for what was described as his 'daring work and the force of his art'.

However, coming from Morocco's young generation of artist-painters, El Hayani, 30, also has to work as a teacher in order to support himself. He is currently teaching art in one of Casablanca's private schools. El Hayani explained to Aujourd'hui newspaper that for him "teaching is an enriching experience, complimentary to my artistic work."
