Seven Egyptians were found dead near Benghazi on Monday, reports AFP. The victims were shot in the head, execution-style.
"The bodies of seven Egyptians were found in Jalluta, east of Benghazi," Ibrahim al-Sharaa told AFP.
Another police officer told Reuters, "they were killed by headshots in execution-style. We don't know who killed them."
Thousands of Egyptians work in Libya. Some Christian Egyptians have been persectued in the past for proselytizing in a Muslim country. The deceased Egyptians are rumored to be Christian.
Benghazi is the birth place of the Libyan uprising that started in 2011 and ousted Muammar Gaddafi.
