An ad hoc committee formed by the Egyptian ministry of education has started scrutinizing feasibility studies on money-generating projects to be undertaken by Egyptian vocational schools, the Al Ahram Arabic daily reported on Thursday.

The paper quoted Minister of Education Hussein Bahaedddin as saying that the ministry would seek support from development funds to finance the school projects.

Students at vocational schools’ workshops will display their products in public exhibitions, while services like maintenance will be offered to their respective local communities.

The minister said that such projects would be operated in a way that did not affect the learning process, while the revenues would help the schools make up for their financial shortfalls – Albawaba.com
