Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on Tuesday telephoned French President Jacques Chirac to review with him the deteriorated situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, according to the official Qatar News Agency QNA.
Egypt’s ambassador to France, Ali Maher al Sayed said that the two leaders discussed over the phone the current moves exerted by Egypt, France and the European Union (EU) to prevent any further deterioration of the situation and to rescue the peace process from its current deadlock, QNA added.
