A state-run Egyptian daily Friday said that the large stockpile of Israeli nuclear weapons pose a grave danger to Muslim countries and called on the international community to do something about it.
The 'Egyptian Gazette' in an editorial, cited by the Iranian official news agency (IRNA), referred to a report issued a few days ago by the German Institute for Strategic Affairs and Armaments on Israeli nuclear arms.
The Institute said that Israel now has up to 200 nuclear weapons capable of being launched air-to-air or on missiles.
It also disclosed that Israel has acquired 50 long-range and 52 short-range missiles. "All Arab countries, Iran and Pakistan lie within reach of Israeli warheads," stated the English-language daily.
"The report's findings are frightening and we should not take them lightly.... World leaders are well aware that Israeli rulers throughout the history of the Jewish state have been treacherous and merciless killers."
"They have no code of ethics. It would not be surprising to find a lunatic Israeli leader one day actually using this stockpile of nuclear weapons. The world must rise from its slumber," concluded the paper – Albawaba.com
