50-year-old village laundry-man Mikhael Butros Abadir, committed suicide when his trade began falling off because his customers were doing his job in the privacy of their own homes, a legal official said on Tuesday, according to AFP.
The official conveyed that Abadir's brothers told investigators he had poisoned himself at Esna, an estimated 600 kilometers south of the capital of Cairo, adding that he had become depressed after realizing that village women were buying irons to press their clothes themselves and no longer needed his laundry services.
