The Armed Forces participating in the ‘Sinai 2018’ operation killed 36 armed elements operating in North and Central Sinai, including a highly dangerous terrorist cell.

A statement of the General Command of Egyptian armed forces said 6 of the deceased terrorists were killed during an exchange of fire with police forces.

Three automatic guns and explosive devices ready for detonation were found in the hideout of one of the abandoned houses in the North Sinai city Al-Arish. The forces also raided a camp for terrorist elements in the Rafah and seized a communication center used by the takfiri elements.

The forces destroyed a car bomb, targeted and destroyed 12 hideouts used by terrorist elements, and destroyed another car bomb containing large quantities of explosive materials during an attempt to break into a security outpost southwest of Al-Arish.

The operations resulted in the arrest of 345 suspects, including top, dangerous takfiris and wanted criminals, as well as the destruction of 386 hideouts, storehouses, and trenches, in which a number of weapons, ammunition, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were found.
