ALBAWABA - The Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty left for the American capital, Washington, D.C. to hold meetings with Congress members and officials in Donald Trump's administration.
The Egyptian Ministry said in a statement that Badr's visit with hopes "to boost bilateral relations and strategic partnership between Egypt and the US".
The minister could also discuss "regional developments" with American officials, especially after Donald Trump's proposed plan to move Palestinians from Gaza to neighbouring countries, a suggestion which was strongly condemned and rejected by Jordan and Egypt.
Last week, President Trump suggested during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the U.S. would take over the Gaza Strip for economic development.
Trump suggested resettling Palestinians from Gaza to neighboring countries under a redevelopment plan claiming that he will turn the strip into "the Riviera of the Middle East".
