Egypt: Boy hangs himself allegedly after watching 'Devil's' game

ALBAWABA - An Egyptian boy hanged himself allegedly after watching the "Devil's" game on Tik Tok.

The boy's mother said she found her 12-year-old son, Mostafa, hanging from the ceiling when she walked into his room, according to an Al Arabyia report on Wednesday. The incident went viral on the Internet and sent jitters across his little hometown village of Bahteem in Egypt.

It was not immediately clear what led the boy to hang himself. Egyptian police did not release other details, citing the investigations underway.

Police reports showed that the child was found hanging by a rope in his room. The game, known as "Charlie's Challenge," has become the latest craze among school pupils in Egypt.

Education officials have been warning parents to monitor their children's activities on smart phones and other IT applications, and to caution them about the use of such dangerous games.
