Egypt and Tunisia have signed a memorandum of understanding to launch military and defense cooperation accord, reports said.

The two countries have agreed to include the prospect of cooperation in training and crisis management of defense, said the Middle East Newsline (MENL).

The signing took place during a visit to Egypt this week by Tunisian Defense Minister Eldali El Gazi.

Officials were quoted by MENL as saying that other areas of cooperation would be in the fields of naval exercises and peacekeeping missions.

Gazi discussed with his Egyptian counterpart the prospect of defense cooperation and reviewed strategic developments in the region – Albawaba.com
