Egypt to Train 44,000 on IT

Free training for 44,000 Egyptians with different qualifications on IT will begin next week for two months nationwide in collaboration with various universities, the daily Al Ahram reported. 

Ekram Fathi, director of the Ministry of Communication’s Human Resources Development and Training Department said the program will be under the supervision of the university staff at the schools of engineering, science and technology. 

“The program has already trained about 40,000 young man and women nationwide on the basic computers skills, operation systems, electronic tables, report writing and gaining access to the Internet. After the completion of the course each trainee will be offered a certificate,” said Fathi. 

He added, “Starting with this course, the number of training hours will increased from 96 to 240 in order to enable the trainees make the optimal use of the program curriculum.” Other subjects have also been added to the program including the English language and some new computer applications which are useful for trainees in the course of their career. 

“Trainees have been chosen from the lists of young applicants for the program announced recently by the cabinet,” said Fathi pointing that it will be the first time to nominate top students from this course for further training that would qualify them for ISD, an international certificate accredited by many countries and qualifies holders for working in any country worldwide -- Albawaba.com
