Egypt jailed 69 Islamists for life on Wednesday for burning a church near Cairo in August 2013 during a crackdown on supporters of ousted president Mohamed Morsi, Agence France Presse reports.
The church in the town of Kerdasa was set on fire and a local police station was attacked when violence erupted in the town on August 14 of that year, after hundreds of Morsi supporters were killed in a crackdown on two protest camps in Cairo the same day.
