Egyptian police reportedly clashed with university students Tuesday at Cairo's Ein Shams University as well as in three other cities, according to the Associated Press.

Police allegedly used tear gas against Ein Shams university students, with the latter pelting the authorities with rocks in response.

In the southern city of Assiut, other university clashes left 45 people wounded. Seven other students were arrested in the incident.

Clashes were also reported in Alexandria and Mansoura.

Police have been clashing and cracking down on pro-Morsi Islamist supporters almost daily since the former leader's oust last July.
