An Egyptian military court jailed 51 Muslim militants on Monday for plotting to kill public figures and security officials and forming an illegal secret group, court sources said, according to Reuters.
The men were arrested last year under a law that bans all Islamist political groups. The court acquitted 43 other defendants, including the main suspect Nash'at Ahmed Mohamed Ibrahim, a prominent preacher.
The court imposed the toughest sentence of 15 years with hard labour on Magdy Hussein Mohamed, Omar Khalifa Ibrahim and Omar Hagayiev, a Russian national. (Albawaba.com)
