A court in Egypt extended on Tuesday for 45 days the provisional detention of three people, including a woman, accused of spying for Israel, according to a judicial source.

The court ordered that former handball player Naglaa Ibrahim Eid, former football player Khaled Mossaad, and Yasser Saad Hassan remain behind bars in a case kept secret until November.

Arrested over seven months ago, they deny charges of spying, although Mossaad has admitted illegally helping tourists cross Egypt's border with Israel, AFP said.

Meanwhile, police officials continue to search for three Bedouins believed to have helped in the crossing. (Albawaba.com)
