The Egyptian Minister of Business, Mukhtar Khattab announced in Cairo on Saturday that Egypt is in the process of building of five sugar factories in the southern Iranian province of Khozistan after it won an international tender.
The Iranian Wifaq Arabic newspaper cited the Egyptian minister as telling reporters in Cairo that two factories have so far been established and the third one will be completed next April while the rest of factories will be completed early 2002 at the cost of EP600m.
The minister indicated that the construction agreement includes the design of the factories and their equipment design and installation in addition to supervising the implementation and testing operations until delivery date.
“The Egyptian offers for the tender were 30 percent less than others from the developed countries,” said the minister -- Albawaba.com
