EFG-Hermes expands Human Resources capabilities
New Hires support continued growth of the firm across the region
Demonstrating further commitment to enhancing its human resources capabilities, leading regional investment bank EFG-Hermes today announced two key hires to its CHR Department.
Geoff Veldhuis joins EFG-Hermes to head Performance and Reward, while Hassan Yousaf joins the group as Manager, Organisational Resourcing; both with region-wide mandates. The appointments come on the heels of Declan Ball being appointed Head of Corporate Human Resources, and support EFG-Hermes’ plans to recruit and retain the best talent as it continues to expand its operations across the region.
With more than twenty years experience in Human Resources and reward management, Veldhuis has worked extensively around the world providing his insight and expertise to organizations such as KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Mercer Human Resource Consulting, Baxter Healthcare, Hay Management Consultants, SAS Institute, HSBC, and ING Group.
His role with EFG-Hermes will see him take responsibility for all compensation and benefits, and he will be tasked with indexing salaries to various regional and international markets, determining performance bonuses, equity schemes and performance plans.
Hassan Yousaf joins EFG-Hermes from Bayt.com, where he was head of Executive Search and Selection, sourcing top executive level regional and international talent and supporting recruitment strategies for leading institutions in the Finance, IT, Telecom, Industrial and public sectors. Prior to that Hassan worked for international recruitment consultants in London, including Portfolio International and Reed Hospitality Solutions. Hassan’s role at EFG-Hermes will see him take group wide responsibility for manpower planning, non-traditional recruitment, and assessment.
“The appointments of Geoff and Hassan will allow us to implement the next stage of our strategy in supporting the firm’s operational objectives. As EFG-Hermes grows, it is crucial that we align our compensation and performance benefits across each market and recruit and retain the best people to work in those markets. Both Geoff and Hassan will be instrumental in implementing these measures and I am looking forward to working with them both,” said Declan Ball, Head of Corporate Human Resources at EFG-Hermes.
