Switzerland’s top hotel, the Beau-Rivage Palace in Lausanne, has launched a special package giving Middle East guests easy access to one of the world’s most spectacular hot air ballooning festivals.
The balloon festival is held in the small Alpine town of Chateau D’Oex during the last week of January and attracts around 50,000 spectators each year. Middle East travellers will be hypnotised by the sight of more than 80 balloons of various sizes, shapes and colours floating peacefully over the crisp outline of the Swiss Alps.
Europe’s most skilled pilots convene at the event, now in its 25th year, to compete in precision flying, paragliding, airship and special shaped balloon demonstrations. The event is a challenge for the imagination and balloons shaped as animals and even birds will be on show.
A special feature on 28th and 29th January will be the simultaneous mass ascension of the entire fleet of festival balloons from every participating country.
As a regular getaway retreat for discerning Middle East travellers, the Beau-Rivage Palace is giving its guests the chance to soak up the atmosphere of this unforgettable event in grand style. Guests can enjoy two nights with a hearty breakfast served in their room or at the hotel’s elegant Salon Grammont restaurant. This exclusive package also includes a Michelin-star lunch experience at La Rotonde fine-dining restaurant.
Rates start at CHF 435 (approx US$339) per night for a single room, while private limousine transfers to Chateau-D’Oex can be arranged upon request. Reservations can be made using the Beau-Rivage Palace email ([email protected]) and telephone hotline +41 21 613 3333.
