Earthquake shakes northwestern Iran

An earthquake measuring a 4.7 on the Richter scale jolted northwestern Iran early Tuesday. 

 

Iranian authorities had yet to establish if there were any casualties or major damage, according to IRNA news agency. 

 

The epicenter of the earthquake was 15 kilometers northeast of the city of Khoy, bordering Turkey, at 00:42 a.m. (local time). (Albawaba.com)
