UAE: Over 30 students from the University of Eindhoven have been part of the recently concluded student delegation touring of Tabreed’s district cooling plant in Dubai. The Middle East’s award-winning district cooling pioneer, is one of the first district cooling companies to give students a peek into its technical operations.
Organised by Royal Haskoning, this exclusive eight-day tour saw students and professors visit the cooling plant site to gain valuable first-hand experience on its key operational functionalities. Students specialising on 'Building Services' from the Technical University of Eindhoven (The Netherlands) were part of this educational trip.
“Tabreed believes in supporting noble initiatives that add significant value to students with a consistent effort to enrich their knowledge and to gain first hand experience by visiting our facility,” said Dany Safi, CEO, Tabreed. “I am sure the technical tour is more instrumental than class-room presentations in getting the 30 plus Dutch students exposed to ways in which a world-class district cooling system operates.”
“We were given an impressive and above all a valuable experience of a cooling plant that especially our students in Holland do not see every day. We are grateful to Tabreed for initiating this successful educational trip,” said Darryl Tjin, Royal Haskoning
‘Building Services’ is a study discipline that principally focuses on the design of healthy, sustainable and intelligent buildings. Currently, a great deal of attention is being given to the total design process of buildings and installations with the emphasis on optimising the interior environment of a building while simultaneously retaining its architectural qualities. Attaining this standard to develop perfect residential or working environment requires right designing and a good integration of the different building-related installations.
Consultation between the architect, engineer and installation technologist is essential at an early stage of the building design process. Building-related installations can include systems for hospitals, laboratories and production processes, as well as smart homes and 'domotics'. During their stay, students are going to explore the various concepts of building designs and how it is applied in Dubai.
The entire initiative was sponsored by Royal Haskoning in association with Mollier, the association installation technology.
