The Dubai Press Club is preparing to host the International Forum of Press Centers, set to convene on Januray 6th, 2002.
The International Forum of Press Centers was established by the Dubai Press Club in April 2000. The objective of the Forum is to foster dialogue, co-operation and an exchange of practical experience and ideas between IFPC members. It also aims to render services and facilities of each IFPC member more easily accessible to its fellow members
The scope of the Forum’s activities is worldwide, and includes Europe via the European Federation of Press Clubs. Representatives to the forum include Press Club of Vienna, Press Club de France, NPC Washington Press Club, Centre de Presse de Barcelone, Malta Press Club, Geneva Press Club, Milano Press Club, Maison de la Presse Liege- Luxembourg, Press Club of India, Press Club of Singapore, London Press Club, Munich Press Club, the Hong Kong Press Club, Bulgaria Press Club, Kazakhstan Press Club, and the National Press Club, Australia
Mona Al Marri, Executive Manager of the Dubai Press Club noted that the Dubai venue for the International Forum “affirms the global position of Dubai”, and noted “It is important strengthen the cultural dialogue between the East and West and exchange views on the challenges facing media around the world especially in the current socio-political environment”.
