Eleven people have been detained in Dubai for allegedly stealing electrical cables from a number of construction sites in the emirate. Police said all the accused were illegal foreign workers, Khaleej Times reported.

A police officer said they acted after getting information from an agent that a group of men asked him to take them to a camp in Al Ghusais. They were carrying goods which they claimed to have purchased from a merchant.

The informant grew suspicious when the men asked him to switch off his car's lights when they reached their destination. Investigations indicated that the persons were carrying stolen goods. Initially, police arrested three men who, during interrogation, gave information about other members of the gang. (Albawaba.com)
