The Environmental Protection and Safety Department at Dubai Municipality implemented a regular inspection program of the industrial establishments during last September to ensure their adherence to the environmental regulations, the United Arab Emirates News agency (WAM) reported.
Citing official figures, the agency said the department’s inspectors made 601 inspections including 340 follow-ups, investigation of four complaints, assessment of situations related to new industrial licenses and others.
Meanwhile, the officials are making efforts to monitor sea water to ensure its quality, remove floating objects and closely monitor the ships’ activities at Dubai creek and ports. This is in addition to monitoring the natural reserves by using boat patrols to stop any illegal actions that may violate the environmental protection rules in the country.
