Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) will host the annual Water and Energy Technology and Environment Exhibition from February 2 to 4 at the western hall of the Dubai International Airport Expo Center, Khaleej Times reported Tuesday.
The exhibition, which is held under the patronage of Dubai Crown Prince Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is organized in coordination with the Zayed International Prize for the Environment.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, General Manager of Dewa, was quoted by the Dubai-based paper as saying that the event would be held within the framework of Dewa's endeavor to support different economic and social activities in the country.
The exhibition, he said, strengthened Dewa's belief in the necessity of emphasizing the importance and role of water and energy and their strong relationship with the environment, and the impact on the economic, social and industrial development.
At present, Dewa is gearing itself for an exhibition on Water and Energy Technology and Environment (Wetex) which will feature the latest products, technologies, studies and researches in these fields.
Dewa was established on 1 January, 1992, by a decree issued by Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum to take over and merge the Dubai Electric Company and the Dubai Water Department that had been operating independently until then – Albawaba.com
