Record-breaking salads, giant chocolate bars and gourmet delights are on the menu of the Food Surprises Week at this year's Dubai Summer Surprises festival, said the Gulf News.
The second weekly promotion, which follows Ice Surprises, runs from June 28 to July 4 and is organized by the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing.
According to the daily, around 205 events have been lined up at nine shopping malls and 26 leading hotels. Highlights of the week of activities include the preparation of the world's largest babaganoush (Lebanese salad), creating the biggest chocolate bar, a healthy eating program by Carla Habib, demonstration of ice, vegetable, fruit and Halloween pumpkin carving, a ladies cooking competition, a spaghetti eating competition, food games, an egg race for children and a cake decorating competition, the paper added.
Food Surprises will also host an Indian Day, Chinese Day, Japanese Day, Italian Day, Mexican Day and Arab Day to highlight the culinary delights of these countries by organizing competitions for children – Albawaba.com
