Dubai Customs World promotes
‘Mirsal World’ at GITEX 2007

Dubai World subsidiary Dubai Customs World (DC World), is taking part in GITEX 2007 this year to showcase its innovative, high-tech e-customs services and solutions.

DC World is showcasing its e-services, specially designed for meeting customer requirements in line with the Dubai e-government policy.

The focus will be on the improved ‘Mirsal World’ system, an advanced electronic customs clearance solution, created and developed by DC World, which is attracting a wide interest within the industry as clearly reflected at the “WCO International IT Conference & Exhibition 2007” held in Mexico.

“The international response at the industry level in general and the interest shown by our customers in particular are further incentives for continuous improvement of our services and products. Our participation in GITEX is another opportunity for showcasing our innovations, in line with our strategy of developing a new generation of IT solutions to overcome routine transaction processing in government departments,” said Hamad Fadhel Al Mazrooei, CEO, Dubai Customs World.

This year is DCW’s third consecutive participation in GITEX, which is expected to attract more than 3,300 international firms in its 2007 version.

DC World is making live presentations, showcasing the features and the manner of using “Mirsal World”, beside continuous presentations of its other e-services and printed materials to be distributed to visitors and participants.

The advanced version of “Mirsal World” facilitates through a single window, customs transactions and operations. It makes it possible to submit the required documentation online. The software which represents a regulatory agency control, also coordinates the processing of documents besides creating an electronic link between shipping companies and the customs authorities during the process, up to the issuance of the customs clearance for the goods.

The system provides a valuation reference and IPR protection control in addition to post clearance audit control. It includes the calculation of customs duties according to the unified code system with rates based on the tariffs in country of origin, protects revenue leakage and facilitates the updating of corporate data through e-compliance audit. It is characterized by its risk management and free zone and bonded warehouse management features.
