Dubai Customs plans safe from global economic downturn and no employee lay off intended.

the global economic downturn has no major effects upon Dubai Customs plans. Employees are not threatened by any lay off while Dubai Customs does not intend to terminate any employee
service but to the contrary is recruiting new staff based on business requirements.

 

This was disclosed by Abdul Rahman Al Saleh, Senior Executive Director of Corporate Affair at the monthly meeting being held by Customs Senior Management with different divisional Executives and employees aiming at identifying their problems, expectations and views as to serve the organizational business interest.

 

The monthly meeting has been dedicated to Client Management Division for two running days.

 

The first meeting was held on 6th April 2009 at Customs main building with all divisional employees while the other took place next day with divisional managers.

 

Mr. Ahmed Mahboob Musabah, Executive Director of Clients Management Division and all divisional managers attended the meeting.

 

The aim was to enhance channels of communication among senior, middle managements and employees, discuss directives on best customer service delivery standards and identify business constraints with producing practical plans to remove them as well as listening to managers and employees suggestions for business structure development.

 

Mr. Al Saleh listened to the managers and employees suggestions for business development and problems facing them.

 

Mr. Al Saleh affirmed that Dubai Customs would recruit new employees to overcome lack of manpower at some customs centers lauding the suggestion of rotating employees and promised to implement it. He welcomed the proposal for intensifying staff training programme in a way pacing with customs business interest.


At the end of the meeting, Mr. Al Saleh thanked all employees of Client management Division for their interaction and suggestions affirming that: “Dubai Customs always seeks to communicate with all employees as part of its continuous reform and modernization programme. By the policy of open door being adopted by Dubai Customs and the transparency under which it equally interacts with its people and clients, no barriers between the management and employees can be seen.”

 

From his part, Mr. Musabah thanked Mr. Al Saleh for such important meeting pointing out that: “such meetings would continue with all divisional employees and any constructive suggestion by any employee serving the business and assisting with best customer service delivery standards is welcomed.”

 

Worth mentioning, Dubai Customs Senior Management conducts such meetings with the employees regularly and continuously. It has an excellent scheme for suggestions and complaints aiming at improving customer service delivery levels based on latest world standards and specifications.
