dubai customs inaugurate the it design and development test lab
In reinforcement to Dubai Customs’ vision based on fostering the economic and social development of Dubai, the Director General, Ahmed Butti Ahmed, inaugurated the recently established IT Design and Development Test Lab at Dubai Customs.
The operations in the IT Design and Development Test Lab focus on the IT systems at Dubai Customs and whether it is processing the business functions correctly, in addition to validate that the software which is developed internally or purchased meets the specified business and user requirements for Dubai Customs.
The main task of the IT Design and Development Test Lab consists of ensuring that the software developed by Dubai Customs meets the highest quality.
The lab also ensures the best use of Quality Management and Testing tools ensuring that the software developed by Dubai Customs is of international standard.
The IT Design and Development Test Lab develops standards and procedures that act in accordance with the international software engineering principles and methodologies.
The Executive Director of Customs Development at Dubai Customs, Juma Al Ghaith commented on the inauguration of the IT Design and Development Test Lab saying that “the reason behind the establishment of this lab is to ensure the development of high standard programs at Dubai Customs as well as running all the programs in accordance to the specifications and designs”.
The methodology adopted by the IT Design and Development Test Lab is designed to effectively integrate the resources at Dubai Customs (People, Process & Technology) to bring efficiency in production in terms of time, cost, and quality.
The team who developed the IT Design and Development Test Lab succeeded in establishing 30 workstations dedicated to an in-house test facility.
