Dubai Customs’ IPR Week carries on
Organized by the IPR Section of Intervention Department in Dubai Customs, in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the awareness and training activities of the Intellectual Property Rights Week, carry on with significant attendance.
Taking place at the Kempinski Hotel in Mall of the Emirates, the IPR Week, which started yesterday (Sunday) lasts until May 1st.
Dubai Customs organizes this workshop, with wide governmental contribution, represented by the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Economy, Dubai’s Department of Economic Development and Sharjah Customs. The concerned staff and professionals interested in IPR listen to experts from world-known brand names in various industries and service sectors, as lecturers from Pfizer, al-Tamimi, Nestle, Motorola and other local and global famous brands, deliver 19 work papers and training presentations in IPR.
Yousuf Ozair, Manager of Customs Intervention Department at Dubai Customs, affirmed that those efforts come as part of the overall plan of the IPR section of Dubai Customs, aimed at raising awareness towards IPR protection, and deployment of the IPR culture among different society segments.
“Generally, the workshop sends numerous messages on what IPR is, and the importance of commitment to international conventions in that matter. Inspectors from Dubai Customs take part in this workshop along with representatives from government departments, ministries and federal ports and customs departments, as well as delegates from the GCC,” Ozair concluded.
