Dubai Court of First Instance will hear a case brought against a Syrian charged with breach of trust, forgery and embezzling Dh1,218,150 from a special needs center for children.
According to Gulf News daily, the man, A.A., a 35-year-old Syrian, allegedly went on holiday and did not return in May 2001 as scheduled. A thorough audit of the center's accounts indicated that A.A. had allegedly forged the signature of a member of the board of directors, and withdrew Dh134,500 from the bank which, it is claimed, he deposited into his own account.
The accused had access to all the center 's revenue and allegedly took Dh21,850 in cash for his own welfare. (Albawaba.com)
