Dubai Chamber welcomes global CEOs

Chamber’s support to the World CEO Forum 2008 seen as an opportunity for its members to meet, network and connect with global business leaders


For the third consecutive year, Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry is supporting the World CEO Forum that opened in Dubai today (Tuesday) and runs until Thursday. Hosted by the CEO Club UAE, the event being attended by over 250 decision makers, CEOs of major companies and other business leaders in Dubai, sees potential business partners and clients making new relationships which happens to be one of the key objectives of Dubai Chamber.

HE Eng Hamad Buamim, Director General of Dubai Chamber, while welcoming the delegates at the breakfast meeting sponsored by Dubai Chamber at Bussola, Le Meridien Mina Seyahi, said, “Choosing Dubai as a venue for the prestigious World CEO Forum is a privilege, not only because the emirate is the most important gateway to the lucrative Middle East markets, but also because it is a gateway and a place where world businesses are centered.

Said Buamim, “Today’s Forum offers our members and the business community in Dubai a real opportunity to meet, network and connect with CEOs and top business leaders from all over the world. This event will also help our participating members explore future business potentials and to share ideas and thoughts with global experts about how to make businesses more productive, more profitable and more protected.”

Highlighting the Chamber’s strategy Buamim said, “Under its new vision to be the best chamber in the world, Dubai Chamber strives to be ahead of the rest. In line with Dubai Strategic Plan 2015, the immediate objective of the Chamber is the promotion of Dubai as an international business hub and to retain its position as the most recognised source of competitive advantage

 

 

among businessmen belonging to a hue of multi-national backgrounds. Dubai Chamber helps its members to meet new businessmen, access new business markets, discover new investment opportunities and establish strategic partnerships with their business counterparts from all over the world.”

He added, “Dubai has always been considered the main pillar of the UAE’e economy. Our Government’s continuous support has helped the emirate to create an encouraging business environment by adopting a free economy and open market policy and developing major economic sectors that helped Dubai establish itself as an international trading hub. The emirate is determined to achieve international excellence and global city standing with the remarkable activities of the private sector which has been urged to play a bigger role in the emirate’s economy,” said Buamim.

Buamim’s welcome address was followed by Reg Athwal, Chairman, RAW Group’s  talk on Professional CEO Matchmaking and Introductions and Laszlo Horvath of Active Media’s presentation on Your Website as a Profit Center while the second day (Wednesday) will see John Cooper talking about Ocean Living by H2O, Craig Johnson on Real Estate and a presentation by Emaar.
