dubai chamber introduces dubai commercial directory 2007-2008 in cd form

Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry yesterday introduced the digital copy of the newest Dubai Commercial Directory 2007-2008 which became a principal reference for businessmen, traders and exporters. Presenting the new directory’s CD comes after the Chamber had launched its hardcopy last July.

Nuha Mohammed Safar, Director of Marketing and Communication Department at Dubai Chamber, said the digital copy of the new Dubai Commercial Directory has been printed on CDs in Arabic and English. It will be an easy tool to be used by businessmen looking for useful information about more than 75,000 companies operating in Dubai and registered at Dubai Chamber.

“Providing the new directory on CD goes in line with Dubai Chamber’s strategy in offering online services for its members and the business community. Just after the Chamber has presented the new directory in its hardcopy form, the directory’s CD will make it easier, faster and more effective for users to get information about companies by just a few clicks on the keyboard,” said Safar.

She pointed out that the main page of the new directory’s CD contains two main searching options that users could use to get their information about certain companies. They can choose either ‘direct search’ or ‘classification’ search options. Choosing direct search, users can get information on companies by its name, type of business, number of post office box, telephone number and fax number. The information resulted by search could be printed out in different types of files.

“The number of companies listed in the newest version of Dubai Commercial Directory 2007-2008 has increased by 12,000 companies compared to last year. This reflects the vitality and growth of Dubai’s economy, and underlines the success of Dubai Chamber in introducing the Dubai Commercial Directory as the most comprehensive source of information and essential reference for local and foreign businesses wishing to establish new contacts with other businesses to promote its services and products,” Safar noted.

The director of Marketing and Communication Department noted that the new directory reflects the Chamber’s effort in coping with the latest economic changes and its restless work to provide new and upgraded services to its members and the business community. The new directory offers a good chance for the companies operating in Dubai to introduce themselves and promote their services and products, Safar explained.

She praised the efforts done by Al Ghurair Printing and Publishing House for handling the publication of the Dubai Commercial Directory 2007-2008 in its hard and digital copies, as well as the company’s keen interest in presenting the new directory with high quality printing aspects and spelling accuracy of the names and addresses of companies.

The digital copies of the new directory in Arabic and English are currently available at the headquarters of Dubai Chamber.
