du joined hands once again with the Sharjah Blood Transfusion and Research Centre for the second consecutive year to participate in a special blood donation drive for its colleagues. Colleagues participated in this initiative in its offices located at Al-Salam Tower and Dubai Academic City.

By giving blood, each donor helped save the lives of up to four people, as the donated blood is separated into four components - red cells, plasma and two others. As an additional benefit for the donors, a blood donation is the best remedy for those who suffer from an iron overload, as it prevents the accumulation of toxic quantities of iron in the body and refreshes the blood circulation. Furthermore - for those conscious about their weight - during the blood donation session, each donor burnt up to an impressive 650 calories.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility scheme, du always encourages its employees to actively give back to the community and participate in initiatives which reach out to people in need.
