The Committee for preparing and supervising Dubai Municipality’s Events for the Dubai Shopping Festival met Monday to discuss preparations for DSF-2002, according to Khaleej Times.
The committee, headed by Hussein Nasser Lootah, Assistant Director-General for Environment and Public Health Affairs, viewed a wide-range of matters in preparation of the event.
Proposals for different entertainment performances to be held during the festival, city decoration plans and events to be held at the parks were thoroughly discussed. During the meeting, Lootah assured that the municipality would select the best entertainment performances, which match the DSF’s reputation.
International shows, which will be staged, in Dubai’s parks, were also discussed and details regarding them will be announced in a later press briefing. Panel members also discussed the opening of “Children’s City”, an exciting DH77 million “infotainment” project of the Municipality of Dubai.
A number of designs for decorating the bridges, streets and tunnels of Dubai have been approved. The designs reflect a combination of traditional concepts and state of the art technology.
