ALBAWABA - A drone strike struck the airport of Port Sudan, the seat of the Sudanese army-aligned government on the Red Sea coast, on Sunday, an airport official told AFP.
According to the Sudanese official, the drone attack left no casualties.
An army spokesman, Nabil Abdullah, accused the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of carrying out several "suicide drones" at the coastal city, targeting the airport.
The strike also targeted "a goods warehouse and some civilian facilities in the city of Port Sudan," causing no injuries but "limited damage".
According to Reuters, the attack was RSF's first to have reached the eastern port city since the Sudanese war began on April 15, 2023.
