ALBAWABA- A drone and missile attack targeted northern Israel, coinciding with the visit of Israeli Chief of Staff Halevy and his American counterpart. Channel 12 in Israel reported that air defense systems launched interceptor missiles near the city of Nahariya, northern Israel.
Sirens blared in more than 14 towns in Western Galilee as a precaution against rockets and drones.
Israeli newspaper Maariv reported that around 20 rockets were fired towards northern Israel.
In retaliation, Israeli artillery shelled the outskirts of Burj al-Muluk and Tal al-Nahhas in southern Lebanon, and an Israeli air raid targeted the town of Al-Tayri in southern Lebanon.
Chief of Staff Halevy stated that a preemptive operation had thwarted an attempt by Hezbollah to target civilians in northern and central Israel, yestrday.
He emphasized the importance of strengthening operational cooperation with the United States to address challenges and threats in the Middle East.
The Pentagon also highlighted the ongoing threat of attacks on Israel by Iran or its proxies.
