During his current visit to Saudi Arabia, Palestinian International Cooperation minister Dr. Nabil Shaath has been undergoing thorough medical check ups at the Riyadh King Faisal Hospital. The Palestinian minister was hospitalized following complaints of severe pains. The specialists diagnosed problems in his spinal cord.
Mustafa Hashim al-Sheikh Dib, the Palestinian ambassador to Saudi Arabia, told Asharq Alawsat daily that the specialists had decided urgently perform an operation on Dr. Shaath’s spinal cord. In order to ease his pains, the Palestinian peace negotiator receives injections.
Dib added: “Dr. Shaath and the Palestinian President Yassir Arafat are consulting whether to hold the operation now or due to the political conditions delay it.” (Albawaba.com)
