Dr. Khaldoun Al Sharif Author of the largest Book Series in fertility, Gynecology and Obstetrics Since 1994

Dr, Khaldoun Sharif, a Jordanian pioneer consultant in fertility, gynecology and obstetrics and the Director of the Istishari Fertility Centre, is the author of 8 published books in gynecology and obstetrics. Published lately was Dr Al sharif’s seventh and eighth books of the largest book series devoted to helping doctors prepare for the membership exam of the British Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG), which is widely recognised as one of the most prestigious medical specialization degrees in the Western World.

The series constitute of 8 books highlighting the different phases of the MRCOG exam for gynecologists and obstetricians. One of the books addresses the membership system and how to get prepared for the exam. Another book deals with Basic Medical Sciences (anatomy, genetics, physiology, etc), which should be essential knowledge for medical specialists.

Moreover, there are further books on clinical obstetrics and gynecology and their various branches such as fetal medicine, gynecological oncology, infertility, reproductive health and gynecological surgery. In addition, there is a book which introduces examples of the questions asked in the membership exam and how to prepare for it.

 “The main objective of this series is to benefit the largest number of gynecologists not only in Britain but also at my home, Jordan”, said Dr. Khaldoun, consultant in fertility, gynecology and obstetrics and the Director of the Istishari Fertility Centre.

“I was keen on publishing my books here in Jordan in order to benefit both the medical and scientific sectors,” he added

In addition to writing these books, Dr. Khaldoun had published more than 100 medical papers on fertility, gynecology and obstetrics.

Dr. Khaldoun has also written a recent book about the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) method used in the Royal College membership exam, which is a modern and developed method. Many universities around the world are considering introducing this method in their exam systems. Dr. Khaldoun has been a member of the examination committee as well as an examiner at the British Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists for many years.

Dr. Khaldoun is a Jordanian consultant gynecologist and obstetrician and the Director of the Istishari Fertility Centre. He obtained the highest academic degrees granted to this specialty in the UK. The Jordanian pioneer spent 20 years of intensive research to reach radical solutions for fertility problems. Al Sharif has 8 published books in gynecology and obstetrics and over than 100 research papers in the same field. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in London, and had obtained a Medical Doctorate degree in infertility and test tube baby techniques. Al Sharif occupied high positions in the United Kingdom, where he was the head of a University Hospital Fertility Unit and the Clinical Director of the Hospital as well, a combined position never reached by an Arab doctor before in the UK. He was also an examiner in the British Medical Council and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, a position he still retains in recognition of his expertise and achievements.
