DP world, UAE region honours staff achievements through Taqdeer
Employees of the UAE Region of global terminal operator DP World have been honoured by Taqdeer, the company’s recognition initiative, for contributions to business excellence. Mr. Mohammed Al Muallem, SVP and Managing Director, UAE Region presented certificates and cash awards at a ceremony held at Dubai’s Jebel Ali Terminal.
DP World, UAE Region launched Taqdeer (which means “appreciation” in Arabic) in early 2008 to recognise individual efforts to improve work processes, enhance efficiency, reduce costs and protect the environment. Taqdeer awards are given in three categories: The ‘Outstanding Performance Award’ recognises contributions of supervisory and non-supervisory staff; The ‘People Development Award’ goes to senior staff who exhibit high levels of skill in developing team competencies. The ‘Excellence in Service Award’ singles out exceptional contributions by senior staff in progressing regional performance objectives and improving the work environment. Nominations for ‘Taqdeer’ awards are submitted to the selection committee, which shortlist candidates based on awards criteria.
