The DOMUS GROUP, organizers of the first of its kind Media and Marketing Exhibition, has appointed Xibits as its sole agent in Lebanon. The show, to be held Nov 2005 7-9th will serve as a common platform for discussion on crucial media issues as prominent members of the Middle East’s media industry share their thoughts on business opportunities and explore new investment options.
“Lebanon has one of the most well established media industries in the region, with distinctive qualities and high standards,” said David Domoney, Managing Director of THE DOMUS GROUP, organizers of the show. “For this reason, it is important that the Lebanese industry becomes a vital part of the Media and Marketing Show. We are therefore pleased to appoint Xibits as our exclusive agent in Lebanon.”
Xibits is a sister concern of the Dubai-based Channels Exhibitions, an established event organizer whose portfolio includes exhibitions such as Private Label Middle East, PhotoWorld Dubai and Middle East Exclusive.
“Lebanon has historically occupied an influential position in the region’s media industry, with a number of talented players and decision-makers,” added Domoney. “Despite its depth of experience, its needs to acquire new skills and techniques to stay ahead in a competitive field, as other countries including the UAE, Qatar and Bahrain are making rapid strides and promoting themselves aggressively. The Media and Marketing show provides Lebanon’s media players a platform to bring their experience to bear on new markets.”
Suzie Chammas, Managing Director of Xibits, said, “Levant companies have been an active participant in regional exhibitions. Lebanon’s industries have benefited enormously from displaying their talents to regional markets, allowing them avenue to new markets and growth opportunities. The country’s marketing industry understands and keenly appreciates the value of participation in shows such as this, and we are looking forward to excellent representation from all the major players in the country.”
Lebanon's media is well developed, lively and diverse, reflecting the country's pluralism. The country pioneered private broadcasting stations in the Middle East, and its status as a tri-lingual state makes it a hotspot for media activity.
Apart from giving exhibitors the chance to secure business and explore new growth opportunities, the Media and Marketing Show 2005 seeks to help raise standards and develop professional skills and knowledge.
“The Middle East industry needs to stop taking a piecemeal approach and start considering itself as an integrated community pursuing common standards and global best practices,” said Guy Guillemard, Marketing Director, THE DOMUS GROUP. “The Media and Marketing show 2005 will go a long way towards consolidating the industry and promoting business as well as enhancing interaction between the various providers that service the market.”
The Media and Marketing Exhibition is being held at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre (DIEC) as part of the International Media & Marketing Week. Among the major regional media players taking part in the exhibition will be MEPRA, Khaleej Times, Dubai Media City, Jacobsons and Saatchi and Saatchi, Fortune Promo Seven Group, BBC World, Gray Business Communications, ITP Consumer, Al Jazeerah Sports Channel, The Economist, Canon Middle East, Orient Planet PR, CDP, Dom International, Orient Planet PR, Media Factory, The Concept Group, AME Info, Biz Events, Gulf Air, General Motors, Blue Ocean, Les Affichages Pikasso, Connector Publishing, DIT Publishing, Infinity TV and others.
