doha’s biggest consumer exhibition in qatar surpasses expectations

Just months after launch announcement and 50% size increase, the 3rd annual International Trade Fair 2008 fills 80% of exhibitor spots and adds a new VIP Area for the first time in consumer shows in the Middle East

Qatar Expo event management is launching Doha’s biggest consumer exhibition in Qatar, the 3rd annual International Trade Fair (ITF) 2008.  From January 5th through the 14th, the ITF will be held in the New Qatar International Exhibition Center.

This brand new venue is 50% larger than those of previous years and conforms to the latest requirements in international standards.  The highly anticipated event announced its launch mere months ago, yet 80% of the exhibition spots have already been filled.

Over the past two years, the ITF has been impressively successful and has been noted by regional organizers as the leading consumer exhibition in the Middle East.  In 2007 alone, the exhibition hosted more than 80,000 visitors with a trade value of USD 18 million over a period of just 6 days.  In 2008, the exhibition has been expanded to run for 10 days in a venue 50% larger than previous years and the estimated trade value has escalated to over USD 22 million.

For the first time in the Middle East, a special VIP section has been added to the exhibition, which will host only those exhibitors who sell products each worth more than USD 5,000.  This new section has been tailor made to suit the refined tastes of regional and international VIP consumers.

“We are very excited about the new initiatives implemented this year and welcome back the many veterans from our previous trade fairs and are excited to host many international newcomers from nations such as the Czech Republic, Cyprus, Korea, Russia, Vietnam, Lithuania, Zimbabwe, and France,” said Fernando De Guama Director, Exhibitions & Events, “ITF 2008 will host 500 companies from 35 countries over 10 days.  Qatar Expo has proved that by leading through innovation, the exhibition will be a truly international event.”
