Media One Hotel, the stylish and contemporary new property set to open at Dubai Media City in October, has appointed Didier Gusching as Executive Chef. French born Gusching joins the hotel with over 15 years of senior culinary management experience having worked throughout Europe and the Middle East. He will lend his expertise and managerial skills to all the food and beverage outlets throughout the hotel.
Gusching moved to Media One from the Jebel Ali Golf Resort and Spa where he was Executive Chef and responsible for the resort’s twelve restaurants, five club houses and one of the largest banqueting operations in Dubai. Managing a brigade of 130 chefs, he successfully catered prestigious events including the Dubai Desert Classic, The Dubai World Cup and numerous award ceremonies.

Didier has extensive experience in the industry as well as the region and brings with him a strong and passionate philosophy about food and service which can only enhance our offering.”
Chef Gusching’s strengths lie in his creative ability and passion for bringing a contemporary and fresh approach to restaurant hospitality. While he is inspired and driven by great food and service, he also possesses key executive skills that include strong kitchen management, quality assurance and operational efficiency.
Commenting on his new appointment, Gusching said, “I am delighted to be part of this exciting new hotel and am looking forward to creating something very different for our food and beverage portfolio. I look forward to immersing myself in this new role and supporting the team to launch Media One as a dynamic new hotel. We want to approach everything we do at Media One with a fresh perspective. For me to have the freedom to create something new is thrilling.”
Gusching’s impressive career, which spans nearly two decades, includes working at some of the world’s most respected hotel chains across the Middle East and Europe such as Le Meridien, InterContinental, Oberoi and Sheraton Hotels.
Gusching studied at the Lycee Hotelier in Manosque, France, and is a member of the French Culinary Academy and the Chaine des Rotisseurs.
