DHL Bahrain, the country’s largest express logistics provider, recently recognised Nasser Al Sarraj, a customer service agent, for his outstanding performance in his first DHL-sponsored academic year at the AMA International University, Bahrain.
Nasser was awarded a DHL Bahrain sponsorship among another three employees last year to pursue college studies. The exemplary performer, who started his studies for a Bachelor of Science in Business Informatics, was recognised in a ceremony held in DHL Bahrain’s Area Office for his outstanding performance in recent examinations.
Present at the ceremony, DHL Middle East Regional Director, Phil Couchman gave a speech praising the hard work of the A-student employee, who is due to finish his degree in January 2008, saying: “As an employer of choice, we are committed to enhancing our employees’ skills development at DHL. Our aim is to further personal development, boost career prospects and help our employees achieve their ambitions.”
The employee education initiative was brought to life by DHL Bahrain Country Manager, Nour Suliman and his team to give employees the chance to work in a professional environment while developing their skills and experience. “We are proud to recognise this dedicated employee who maintained the quality and value of work consistently, whilst achieving straight A’s in his studies,” Suliman commented during the ceremony.
DHL Bahrain’s education initiative is part of its constant strategy of Bahrainisation in the company. With 83% of its workforce Bahraini nationals, DHL Bahrain’s reputation as one of the leading employers of choice in the region is well known.
