Delta Partners appoints Kai-Uwe Ricke as Chairman of its International Advisory Council
Kai-Uwe Ricke has been recently appointed Chairman of Delta Partners’ International Advisory Council (IAC), a newly established body that will support Delta Partners management team in taking the leading advisory and investment telecoms firm to the next level. “After building a very strong platform around telecom clients and investors in Middle East and Africa, we plan to expand our reach and to offer our services to clients and investors in high growth markets beyond the MEA region” expressed Victor Font, Managing Partner of UAE headquartered Delta Partners. “We want our newly established IAC to help us make the necessary adjustments to our structure and corporate governance and we also want to leverage the calibre and experience of our IAC’s members for the benefit of clients and investors alike”, Font said.
Mr. Ricke’s background and experience in some of the most relevant companies in the telecoms industry will complement Delta Partners’ existing assets and capabilities. “Mr. Ricke brings a unique combination of a very successful track record leading key industry titans such as Deutsche Telekom with a very active role in the investment space. This is what Delta Partners combines and we welcome the opportunity to work with Mr. Ricke, our clients and investors”, Font explained. Mr. Ricke will also be a member of Delta Partners Private Equity’s Advisory Board.
Mr. Ricke is former CEO of Deutsche Telekom AG, T-Mobile International AG, T-Mobile Deutschland Gmbh, and co-founder and CEO of Talkline Gmbh, a start-up for service provisioning in mobile communications in the German market. He is currently an active partner of various private equity companies. Mr. Ricke is a Board Member and co-investor with EQT at Kabel Baden-Wuerttemberg Gmbh and with Warburg Pincus at Easy Cash Gmbh. He also serves as Non-Executive Chairman of Apollo Investment Europe, an European mezzanine fund of Apollo. Mr. Ricke is also member of the Advisory Board of Exigen Capital, a US based specialized Private Equity firm. Besides his various contributions in Private Equity, Mr. Ricke also holds a seat in the Supervisory Board of the Italian insurance company Generali S.p.A., in the Board of Oger Telecom and he is also a member of the Supervisory Board of United Internet AG Germany.
