More than 46 students shown presentation of Maritime City and taken on site tour
A delegation of MBA students and professors from the New York University – Stern School of Business have recently concluded a visit to Dubai Maritime City, the world’s first purpose-built maritime centre and a member of the Dubai World Group of companies, in a unique university initiative aimed at providing students with unrivalled access to global corporations, institutions and markets.
More than 46 executive students and professors visited the multi-dimensional maritime centre, which has recently commenced its third and final phase of construction. During the site visit, which was led by Professor Smith, students were shown a presentation about the Maritime City and its engineering accomplishments, and were taken on a tour of the 2.27 million square metre site to view the progress made in infrastructure construction.
The visit by the students and professors comes only a month after Dubai Maritime City announced that it has commenced negotiations with the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU) to construct an academic centre for maritime science in the Academic Quarter of the Maritime City. On completion, the Maritime Education University will train potentially thousands of local and international students, and complement the needs of the maritime tenants and related businesses based in the development.
On completion, the Maritime City will also incorporate Harbour Offices, Harbour Residences, the Maritime Centre, a Marina District, and an Industrial Quarter, in addition to the UAE’s first National Maritime Museum and the Gulf region’s largest ship lift for ship repair and maintenance. Moreover, Dubai Maritime City offers investors attractive incentives such as free-zone benefits, responsive government support, a tax-free business environment and an effective port structure.
